Look, I really didn't want to write about Kanye. I was doing everything I could to keep him and his actions out of this newsletter. But then Ta'Nehisi Coates wrote an incredible piece about Ye for The Atlantic, and well, here I am, writing about Kanye.

Whether you think this whole thing is performance art or a narcissistic genius unraveling before our eyes, whether you are a fan of Yeezy or loathe the man, Coates' essay on the state of Kanye is a necessary read. In addition to his take on Ye, Coates sheds light on fame, race and the work of enduring both failure and success.

Hummus is delicious. And Sameh Wadi's hummus is perfect. The chef behind Minneapolis staples World Street Kitchen, Milkjam Creamery and the dearly missed Saffron, Wadi makes hummus that is velvety and fresh. And then he kicks it up with a smoked paprika butter and za’atar. Because if anything can make something good even better, it's butter. And though it'll take time to prepare (about an hour and a half), it's absolutely worth it (it's really not that laborious, just simmering those chickpeas is time consuming).

Bonus: Check out Wadi's cookbook, The New Mediterranean Table, for all sorts of deliciousness.
Here's a dope video from SoCal animator-illustrator Victoria Vincent. Vincent pulls inspiration from her dreams and 90s anime. Her projects often center around existential feelings of anxiety, disillusionment, and fear.

"I currently don’t know where my life is going, but I feel like I’ll always be making art in one way or the other. I’m still learning and changing every day," Vincent said in an interview with Muse’s Milk.

Check out her blog for more of her work.

Oh! And she recently had a hand in KYLE's newest video for his song "Playinwitme" featuring Kehlani.
